AHMEDNAGAR, Nov 1: The attestation parade of the Mechanised Infantry Regimental Centre recruits, took place here yesterday morning at the MIRC grounds. The 171 smartly turned recruits took the oath to serve their motherland after completing a rigorous training for thirty six weeks.

These recruits graduate to become young soldiers ready to undergo specialised training of the mechanised infantry. The MIRC is a premier institution which specialises in the training of simulators, small arms firing and vehicle driving. The function was inaugurated with a salute to Colonel Chibber. The second salute was given to MIRC Commandant Brigadier K. Srinivasan. The prestigious final salute along with the bugle was reserved for the chief guest Lieutenant General V.K. Sewal, Commandant of Armoured Corps Centre and School.

He inspected the guard of honour. Four silver medals and one gold medal was awarded to recruits for their achievements by Lt Gen Sewal. Recruits Virender Kumar, Rakesh Kumar R.P. Khedkar and Avneek Kumar got silver medals while recruit Dinesh Chandra Mishra got the gold medal for his overall performance. The audience was held spellbound by the daredevilry of Sepoy Raju Prasad Jat8217;s paragliding.
