Chennai, Oct 27: The family feud in the household of former Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran has taken a new turn with one of his heirs going on a fast and asking the state government to intervene in the dispute.
The latest conflict is over a reported quarrel between one of the heirs to MGR8217;s Ramavaram property, Sudha Vijayan and the authorities of the deaf and dumb school located within the Ramavaram estate.
In his will, MGR had bequeathed his Ramavaram bungalow to five of his relatives including Sudha Vijayan and the land adjoining the bungalow for starting a deaf and dumb school. He had appointed Sudha Vijayan8217;s sister8217;s husband, Rajendran as the executor of the will, who runs the deaf and dumb school.
Even as the will executor and the heirs are locked in a wrangle over demarcation of the estate, Sudha Vijayan filed a complaint at the Nandambakkam police station recently alleging that her son was beaten up by one of the staff of the deaf and dumb school. The staff was arrested and later letoff on bail.
Now, Sudha, her husband Vijayan, a politician, and her children have launched an indefinite fast demanding governmental intervention to set right the alleged maladministration8217; of the deaf and dumb school.
