
Victims of maoist violence during the conflict years, before they joined the government, have announced fresh protest programmes to press for their demands for food, settlement and medical treatment, in Kathmandu.

8220;We are compelled to continue our stir as the government has remained silent on our plight,8221; said Bhojraj Timilsina, president of the MVA speaking at a press conference.
Some 200 Maoist victims, displaced from their villages, have been staying in Bankali near Pashupatinath Temple for more than a month.
They are demanding education to their children, food for those who were left unemployed during conflict and treatment to those who were seriously injured by the Maoist attacks.
Meanwhile, the Maoists have distributed land and property they seized during insurgency to others in an illegal manner, according to local reports.
The Maoists also distributed 11 bighas approximately 785,000 sq ft. of land-seized from various people during the insurgency to poor Dalit families in Siraha district, according to the police.
