Manipur-II: Repoll ordered in one booth

The Election Commission of India has ordered repoll in one polling station at the Keirao Assembly constituency, which went to polls in the second phase of the Manipur Assembly elections on February 14. MOBC minister and Congress candidate Md Alauddin Khan is contesting from Keirao.

While the official release from the state chief electoral officer RR Rashmi mentioned that repoll has been ordered after taking into account the reports from returning officers and election observers into account, without giving any reasons, sources in the state election commission told Express that the EVM at the polling station had been forcibly taken away from the booth by a group of women, in the presence of CM O Ibobi Singh and Khan. The EVM was recovered this morning by Imphal East police.
