Man held for assaulting boy

Chandigarh, Nov 15: The Industrial Area police today arrested a Raipur Khurd village resident Faqir Chand for allegedly confining a boy at his residence. He has been arrested for illegal confinement and assaulting Sukhdev under Section 342 and 323 of Indian Penal Code.

Police said Faquir and his two sons tied the boy up with a rope in the verandah of his house and then assaulted him. Sukhdev8217;s sister called up the police who raided Faqir8217;s house and got the boy released. While Faqir has been arrested, his sons are at large, police said. The two families had a dispute on Diwali on the issue of crackers.

The boy has been sent for medical examination to the Sector 16 General Hospital.
