
AHMEDABAD, Oct 5: Gandhinagar Sessions Judge B S Parikh has sentenced Babubhai Nathabhai Rawal to seven years8217; rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 or, in default, to undergo imprisonment for another one month for killing a woman. In the same incident, another accused Govindbhai Harji Rawal has been sentenced to three months8217; imprisonment and has been directed to deposit a fine of Rs 500 or undergo imprisonment for another 15 days.
Two other accused Nathabhai Ramabhai Rawal and Dashrath Nathabhai Rawal have been acquitted by the Court. All the accused were relatives of deceased Jayaben Rawal and residents of Por village in Gandhinagar district. On February 21, 1998, Govindbhai and Jayaben8217;s father Bababhai Rawal had a tiff.
On the same day, Govindbhai and the others went to Bababhai8217;s house around 10.30 pm. Govindbhai hit Bababhai on his chest with a stick while Babubhai hit Jayaben on her forehead, resulting in her death.
