Man falls to death while boarding moving train

PUNE, April 20: K Balsubramaniam, a 40-year-old resident of Gokhale Road in Deccan Gymkhana area, was killed on the spot when he fell from the Pune-Mumbai Sinhagad Express at the Shivajinagar Railway Station early this morning.

Police said Balsubramaniam lost his balance and fell while he was trying to board the moving train. A case of accidental death has been filed with the Pune railway police in this connection.

Meanwhile, in an earlier incident, Ahmedabad resident Dinesh Balu Jadhav 24, was seriously injured after falling from a moving train at Dehu Road railway station.

Dinesh was standing in the door of Pune-Ahmedabad Ahimsa Express when he lost balance and fell. His right hand was severed under the wheels of the train, they added. Dinesh has been admitted to Sassoon Hospital. He is out of danger, hospital sources said.
