Man convicted for rash driving

CHANDIGARH, Jan 27: UT Judicial Magistrate First Class Jasbir Singh today held a Patiala resident guilty of rash and negligent driving under Sections 279 and 237 of the IPC. The accused was, however, released on probation after he furnished a probationary bond of Rs 5,000 and a surety of the like amount for a period of six months.

The convict Jasbir Singh was earlier arrested by the police on April 9, 1997 under Sections 279 and 237 of the IPC. In a complaint lodged before the police, it was stated that the alleged accused was driving a truck in a rash and negligent manner and he hurt one Surinder Kumar who sustained minor injuries.
