Malik ends fast

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front JKLF chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik on Sunday ended his six-day-long fast unto death following a message from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting him to end the fast. Malik took a glass of juice from the mother of one of the youths, Asif Mehraj, who was killed in police action while protesting against the economic blockade in the Valley at Maisuma on Monday.

Suicide attempt

JAMMU: Protesting against the revocation of transfer of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board SASB, a youth Anil Kumar Sharma attempted suicide by consuming pesticides on Sunday .He was rushed to the Government Medical College GMC hospital.
