Malayalee programme presented

CHANDIGARH, OCT 4: A programme of Malayalee folk songs and dances was presented at the Tagore Theatre here on Sunday under the auspices of the Kerala Sastra Kala Manch in collaboration with the Department of Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh.

Manch general secretary K. Sivadasan explained: quot;The occasion is an effort to uplift Kerala8217;s traditional arts as they are losing their significance in the present times.quot;

Artists from Jana Sanskriti, a Delhi-based socio-cultural organisation, performed on the occasion. The theme of the performance was eradication of illiteracy and promotion of national integration.
