
PUNE, AUG 23: Thirty two aspiring candidates, including the Congress candidate from Pune Lok Sabha constituency Mohan Joshi and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Baramati Lok Sabha seat Pratibha Lokhande, today submitted their nominations for the elections in the three Lok Sabha and 18 state assembly constituencies in the district.
Minister of State for Agriculture Harshavardhan Patil filed his nomination as an independent from Indapur assembly constituency. Among the others who filed their nominations were nine official candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena alliance, two official candidates of Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party.
The official candidates of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance, contesting for the six assembly constituencies in the city, took out a joint procession and went to the district collectorate to submit their nominations.
The official BJP candidates who filed their nominations on Monday included Girish Bapat from Kasba Peth assembly constituency, Digambar Bhegde from Maval and Vishwas Gandurde from Parvati.
Among Shiv Sena candidates who filed their nominations were Vinayak Nimhan for Shivajinagar assembly constituency, Krishna Zagade for Purandhar , Rajabhau Raikar for Mulshi constituency, Deepak Paigude for Bhavani Peth constituency and Gajanan Babar for Haveli constituency.
Five Congress candidates included Sopan Sherkar from Junnar constituency, Laxman Khilari from Junnar constituency, Bhimaji Gadge from Junnar constituency, Chandrakant Satkar from Maval assembly constituency, Shrirang Gabale from Ambegaon assembly constituency.
Among the NCP candidates who filed nominations were Murli Nimbalkar from Indapur, Kumar alias Vitthal Gosavi from Mulshi assembly constituency and Rambhau Moze from Bopodi assembly constituency.
Hajisahab Nadaf filed his nomination as Republican Party of India’s candidate from Bhavani Peth assembly constituency while Soma Walmiki filed nominations as Bahujan Samaj Party candidate from the same constituency.
Sukhdeo Waghmare filed nominations as Bahujan Samaj Party candidate from Parvati assembly constituency and Nagesh Chabukswar of Bahujan Samaj Party filed his nominations from Bopodi assembly constituency. Ajit Kale of Congress filed nominations from Ambegaon assembly constituency. Bharat Agarwal of BJP filed nominations from Maval constituency.
Rebellion took place in almost all major parties. Rebelling against the party high command, Sudam Ingale of Janata Dal filed nominations from Purandhar assembly constituency.
Ganpat Phulawade rebelled against Congress and filed his nominations from Junnar assembly constituency. Revolting against the party, Vishwanath Bhegde of BJP filed nominations from Maval assembly constituency.
Vilas Sadhu Mate of Shiv Sena has filed his nomination from Mulshi assembly constituency while Avichal Dhiwar of the faction of Republican Party of India led by Prakash Ambedkar has filed his nominations from Bopodi assembly constituency.
Former bureaucrat Avinash Dharmadhikari filed his nominations as an independent candidate from the Pune Lok Sabha constituency and Shivajinagar State Assembly constituency.
