Maharashtrians cannot stop outsiders: Tipnis

Former Air Chief Marshal A Y Tipnis said influx of outsiders into Maharashtra cannot be stopped.

Lamenting the anti-north Indian campaign in Maharashtra, former Air Chief Marshal A Y Tipnis on Thursday said influx of outsiders into the state couldn8217;t be stopped.

8220;We Maharashtrians cannot stop outsiders. They will keep coming. In fact, Maharashtrians should show the courage to go out and work,8221; Tipnis said.

Giving his own example he said, 8220;I was born in Maharashtra and currently stay in Haryana. But people from Haryana have respect about me.8221;

Encouraging youth in Maharashtra he said, 8220;You must go out to broaden the horizons. You should show your capacity to others instead of pulling down each other.8221;

Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray who was also present at the function said the Sena does not oppose outsiders but only those who are against native people.

Former Air Chief Marshal Tipnis was in Mumbai for inauguration of the exhibition 8216;Garjato Marathi8217; organised by the Sena for encouraging Marathi entrepreneurs.

The four-day exhibition comprises cultural events and seminars on various subjects. Noted singer Asha Bhosle, who was also present, said she was close to Thackeray family including Raj Thackeray.
