
NASIK, Nov 29: Maharashtra8217;s Sandip Varma and Swaraj Patil registered records in 200 metre breast-stroke and three metre spring board dive respectively on the third day of 44th Mayor Cup National School Aquatic Championship, at the Nasik Municipal Corporation NMC swimming pool yesterday.
Maharashtra is leading the medal tally with 58 medals so far.
Maharashtra and West Bengal teams set records in 4215;100 metre free-style relay. The hosts won 10 gold, 11 silver and three bronze medals, Karnataka won seven gold, five silver and five bronze medals while last year8217;s champions West Bengal had to contend with two gold, four silver and 10 bronze medals.
Local lad, Swaraj Patil won a gold in the under 14-year three-metre spring board section. Swaraj, who earned 210.25 points broke the record of Mahesh Yadav 206.25 points. Nandita Shrivastav and Supriya Kshirsagar won gold and silver medals respectively in the under 19-year 100 metre free style.
