Maharana Pratap Sangh eves enter final

PUNE, May 6: Sheetal Shendkar’s all round performance along with Sulochana Khatpe and Vidya Gawas’ excellence enabled Maharana Pratap Sangh to enter the women’s final, defeating hosts Rana Pratap Sangh 35-14 in the Late Vasukaka Bhide district-level kabaddi meet at MES Garware College ground today.

Maharana Pratap Sangh eves, leading narrowly by five points at the half- time, played an attacking game after the break with Sulochana Khatpe doing her job to perfection. On the other hand, Vidya foiled the opponent’s game plan with excellence, while Sheetal performed the job of an all-rounder.

Meanwhile, in the 35 kgs boys section, Anjuman Krida Mandal and Badami Haud Sangh advanced into the semi-final stage with a comfortable win over Shivaji Krida Sangh (55-28) and Kohinoor Krida Mandal (72-34), respectively. In the 45 kgs section, Vandemataram Sangh entered the last four round along with Bhairavnath Sangh, Bhosari and Saraswati Sangh.
