After making tall claims of glamorising the Subroto Cup by bringing in teams from Latin America and Europe, the organisers of India8217;s premier school football meet will have to make do with teams from south Asia only in the name of foreign participation.

8220;We tried our level best to bring in teams from Latin America and Europe, but unfortunately nothing has worked out,8221; said Air Marshal J N Burma.

8220;We sent invites, but unfortunately the have no such concept of a school meet there. They have age-group meets but no school meet. Besides, the timing of the tournament is not conducive to their academic calendar,8221; he added.

But the organisers are still hopeful that if not for the tournament they might manage to get a Brazilian team for an exhibition match after the tournament.

8220;We are working closely with All India Football Federation to get a school team from Brazil to play against the champion team in exhibition match,8221; said J N Burma, Air Marshal and air officer-in-charge administration.
