RLD chief Ajit Singh8217;s overtures to the BJP have put the party8217;s lone Muslim MP and Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind leader Mahmood Madani in a tight spot. Upset over the prospect of his party joining hands with the BJP, Madani has advised Singh not to do so. Singh is learnt to have told the Rajya Sabha MP that he has no other option as both Mayawati and the Congress have not been forthcoming about an electoral understanding with the RLD. Madani is now awaiting a formal announcement from Singh after which he will consult the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind on his future course of action.
