
HYDERABAD, JUNE 23: The V Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Bala Tripura Sundari on Thursday granted bail to advocate G Narasimha Naidu, one of the main accused in the suicide case of High Court lawyer Sangita Sharma. Naidu has been in judicial custody since two days.
While granting the bail, the Judge imposed various conditions: The accused should not leave the city; he should not influence the investigation in any way or tamper with the evidence; should make himself available for police investigation; and appear before the station house officer of Market police station once a fortnight between 8 am and 10 am. Naidu was also asked to furnish two sureties of Rs 10,000 each.
The judge, however, adjourned to Friday orders on the anticipatory bail application of the other main accused, Devineni Vijaya Kumar, senior of Naidu in legal profession.
Sangita Sharma committed suicide on June 15 leaving behind a note in which she made allegations of sexual harassment against Vijaya Kumar, Narasimha Naidu and others.
On Wednesday, the High Court stayed all the proceedings in the case including investigation and arrests till Monday following a petition seeking quashing of the FIR. The writ petition was filed by persons named in the case diary produced by the police.
