Punjab Mandi Board chairman Ajmer Singh Lakhowal met Union Agriculture Secretary T. Nanadkumar to apprise him of the problems of paddy and cotton in Punjab. He said CCI has not entered 14 markets and farmers were selling their produce below the MSP to private purchasers. He said late sowing of paddy and inclement weather had led to high moisture content and discolouration of the grain. The government should look into the problem.
