Kochi pitch inspection

KOCHI, JANUARY 16: K Srikkanth, Chairman, Pitches and Grounds Committee, BCCI, inspected the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and pitch, host to the first One-day International against South Africa. Srikkanth said, 8220;the wicket should be hard and nice. There should be a little bit of grass on it and the pitch should be rolled and watered for five weeks to make it hard.8221; He said the outfield should be green and even like the grounds in Australia.

8220;It should not be like the one at Guwahati where the ball turns appreciably,8221; Srikkanth said.
