Kirtane enters final

MADURAI, FEB 26: Doubles specialist Sandeep Kirtane of Maharashtra today scalped top seed Vijay Kannan Del to set up a summit clash with second seed Vinod Sridhar TN in the first leg of the Gold Flake Aces Tour Tennis championship being conducted at the Madurai Union Clubs Courts here.

In the semi-final matches, fourth seed Sandeep Kirtane played impressive tennis to upset Vijay Kannan 7-5 6-2 while Vinod Sridhar put paid to the hopes of Calcutta-based third seed Saurav Panja 6-2 7-5.

The four players will have to battle it out again in the finals of the men8217;s doubles where the top seeded pair of Kirtane and Panja will clash with the second seeded duo of Kannan and Sridhar.
