Kinetic launches Blaze this summer

Kinetic Motor Company today launched the 165cc scooter Kinetic Blaze kickstarting its operations for the year which will see five more two wheelers coming out of its stables this year.

Kinetic Motor Company today launched the 165cc scooter Kinetic Blaze kickstarting its operations for the year which will see five more two wheelers coming out of its stables this year.

Kinetic Managing Director Sulajja Firodia Motwani said that the company will launch another three scooters covering the whole spectrum of the market and two motorcycles in the 100cc commuter segment this year.

‘‘We will launch a 135cc scooter in August followed by a two scooters in December. In between we will also launch two 100cc motorcycles this year,’’ Motwani said.

Blaze is the first launch of the seven vehicle Italiano series that Kinetic acquired from the Italian two wheeler major Italjet Moto. The acquisition was finalised in January 2004.

Blaze is powered by a 4 valve engine with an output of nearly 12 BHP and carries a price tag of Rs 49,990 ex showroom Pune.

‘‘With our latest offering we are targetting the urban college going youth who wants to breakaway from the league of motorcycles without compromising on power delivery. This is country’s first moto-scooter and will establish a new segment altogether,’’ Motwani said.

The company expects to sell 35-40,000 units of the scooter this year and export another 10,000 to markets in US, Australia and Canada. The company is scouting for an alliance partner in Europe to source Euro III compliant engines for export to European markets.
