
Fanta Centrafest 998242;
The Rotract Club of Pube Central organised the Fanta Centrafest 99, at the Alpabachat Bhavan. This two day inter-school fest was mainly for students from classes eight, nine and ten. 18 schools participated, and Rotary President Manjula Vishwanathan was the chief guest. It was followed by a Fanta March past with the NDA band. Amongst the many events, there was a computer exhibition 8211; Beyond 20008242; where the students depicted changes taking place in the next century. Citybeat Jam8217; was another event where a student spoke extempore for a minute, Reynolds Brain Scan8217; was a quiz and Fanta Mad Ads8217; was a competition wherein a school was given a product and made to come up with an advertisement.
The topic for the Fanta Street Play8217; was Kargil8217;, and the most awaited event was A Dinshaw and Company Western Talentia8217; 8211; a song and dance routine, which had the maximum participation.
The winners were St Vincents High School who stood first; Vikhe Patil Memorial high School stood second and The Army Public School which stood third.
Help the environment
As a part of its environment awareness programme, Arbutus is organising an awareness programme in the University Women8217;s Association8217;s Working Women8217;s Hostel Hall on October 16 and 17. Children are invited to submit their paintings, posters, charts, photographs, slogans, poems, essays and models based on the theme for display. All the entries should be brought to the hall between 10 a.m and 11.30 a.m by October 16.
