HISAR, Oct 27: The case relating to the alleged kidnapping of Jai Bhagwan, a resident of village Muklan, on October 1, has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department.
Hundreds of villagers on Monday had staged a day-long dharna to protest the police inaction in the case and had demanded a CID inquiry into the case.
It was only on the assurance of SDM, Balraj Singh, who had visited the blockade site yesterday, that villagers lifted the dharna on the Hisar-Rajgarh road.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested two persons 8212; Jamman and Vimla Rani in connection with the beating up of two cops after they were held hostage in village Sadalpur, about 55 km from here on Sunday night.
