AN unfinished second-wicket partnership of 79 runs between captain Sanjiv Kharade (35) and Vinay Phatak (42), saw Sri Anand Bharti Samaj Sangh beat Advocate XI by nine wickets in a Super League tie of the 15th Dr Shridhar Deshpande Cricket Tournament at the Central Maidan, Thane, on Sunday.

Creative Sports Club, Thane, beat Dr DY Patil Sports Club Academy, Navi Mumbai, by 132 runs in the under-16 final of the Palghar Taluka Cricket Tournament.

Creative, led by Mumbai Ranji player Sulakshan Kulkarni, had earlier won the Ayub Memon Trophy at Bhiwandi.

MGMO B retain title

Reigning champions MGMO `B’ retained the title when they beat ASP B 14-4 in the final of the GMAAA Boys Under-20 Waterpolo Tournament at the MGMO Swimming pool, on saturday.

The star performer for the champions was Sanket Shinde, who scored five goals including a hat-trick.

In the match for the third place, PMHB `B’ scored an easy 10-4 triumph over RCF `B’.
