Khanduri146;s first task: Tackling tension

Soon after taking over the reigns of the state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri is facing a delicate situation in his constituency 8212; Srinagar Garhwal. In the eye of the storm is a vulgar video clip involving a local youth and a girl belonging to another community.

On Sunday, this led to communal tension in the town as workers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party BJP and Bajrang Dal attacked some shops belonging to members of the minority community. A timely action by the police, however, prevented the situation from deteriorating further.

The CM, meanwhile, has said an inquiry will be ordered into the incident and culprits brought to book.

Srinagar Garhwal8217;s SP A P Anshuman said that a sleazy video clip involving a local youth Faisal Khan and a girl was in circulation for the past few days.

The police have arrested the accused and also detained the girl. The girl has reportedly alleged that the video was made after drugging her.
