After airconditioned cars and trucks, now it is tractors.

Veteran tractor manufacturers HMT has introduced an air-conditioned tractor model to help farmers get respite from the heat in the fields.

Christened 8216;HMT 6522 Chandi8217;, the 65 horse power tractor was launched by Union Minister of State for Human Resources Vallabhbhai Kathiria at 8216;Agro Vision 20038217; in Rajkot today.

Kathiria said the new model would increase farmers8217; efficiency in the field and would increase productivity as the farmer could work in the afternoons too, according to an official release issued here.

The new tractor, which has been designed by HMT8217;s R038;D Centre, meets Bharat Stage II emission norms and has features like power steering and synchro mesh gear box.
