CHANDIGARH, March 17: B C Kaushal and IP Nagi were unanimously elected president and secretary of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Coaches Welfare Association, Chandigarh, in the general body meeting of the unit held here today at the Lake Club.

Other office bearers elected are — NS Jasser (senior vice-president); RS Kundu, BS Randhawa, Dinesh Sharma, Surinder Mahajan, MM Malhan, Gurinder Kaur (vice-presidents); Sanjeev Sharma and Madhvi (joint-secretaries).

Sukhwinder Singh, Ranbir Gill, Amrik Singh, Pawan Rana, Gurmesh, PP Singh, KS Patiyal, Mohan Nargeta were elected members of the executive committee.

Binny shines
Binny Bath and Darshi Narang got first positions in the Silver and Bronze Divisions, respectively, in the ladies section in the Monthly Medal Round golf tournament held at the Chandigarh Golf Club.

Madhu Brar was runner-up in the Silver Division while Pikka Singh got second place in the Bronze Division.

Cricket meet
More than 40 teams will vie for top honours in the third Chandigarh league cum-knock out cricket tournament for Golden Forest Trophy to be held from March 20 at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.

The participating teams have been divided into 12 pools. Each pool comprises of four teams.

The league and super league matches would be of 25 overs while semifinal will be played of 30 overs. The final is slated of 35 overs. The matches would be played on Saturday and Sunday.
