After teaching classical music in Mumbai for the past five years, filmmaker Mani Kaul is all set to move to Delhi to take up the post of the director of Osian8217;s Cine-Fan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema. 8220;I see the work at the festival as an opportunity to bring to light contemporary cinematographic perspectives. It will also allow me to continue my personal work of making films,8221; said Kaul, who has made 11 films, the last being Naukar Ki Kameez in 1999. 8220;Our films hardly had any takers. There would be five or six people in the auditorium and, halfway through the film, they would walk out,8221; Kaul talked about his experimental films with a smile. 8220;But you can see the beginning of a change now.8221; Unfortunately, the prints of most of his films are no longer available , while the only print of his first movie Uski Roti 1969 is in the archives of a US university. Hopefully, Delhi would nudge Kaul to get behind the camera once again.
