Karimpuri8217;s arrest flayed

CHANDIGARH, July 26: The Communist Party of India CPI today condemned the arrest of Avtar Singh Karimpuri, general secretary of the state unit of the Bahujan Samaj Party alongwith 5 others on flimsy grounds.Joginder Dayal, secretary of the state council of the CPI, alleged that the police was also trying to arrest BSP MLA Shangara Ram on cooked up charges. He warned of strict backlash if the Punjab government continued with its undemocratic ways in harassing the Opposition leaders.Dayal also extended support to variousbodies of industrialists demanding rolling back on power hike.
