With his ODI career at stake, Mohammad Kaif seeked advise from former England skipper Nasser Hussain to battle his sudden slump in form.
While all the attention was on whether the India-England one-day match would get the green light, the fieldsman extraordinaire was quietly having a serious discussion with Hussain in the confines of the commentary box.
No wonder once the 20-minute animated chat got over that Kaif realised a few members of the press had found him out, he rushed down the stairs only to mistakenly knock on the doors of the England team8217;s dressing room. Both Kaif and Hussain, who is here as an expert commentator, played the rendezvous down but it8217;s learnt that the former English captain advised the struggling Indian batsman that 8220;the best way to get the better of the poor string of scores is to model on the way Yuvraj is approaching the game8221;.
Kaif has been dismissed for nought on four occasions in the last 10 one-day innings.Incidentally, Hussain had also overcome a big slump in form and scored a century in the Nat-West Trophy final to revive his ODI career.
