After the morning weather turned conditions perfect following two days of blinding sunshine, Jyoti Randhawa decided to do the same to his game. With his nine-under for the day 8212; the second time the course record has been equalled in three days 8212; the Delhi golfer put himself promptly into contention for the title at the end of the third day8217;s play at the AIS Open at the Delhi Golf Club. Now 14-under for three rounds, he has jumped over SSP Chowrasia and Ashok Kumar on the leaderboard to be placed second.

With Randhawa putting pressure 8212; playing a group ahead 8212; overnight leader Gaurav Ghei kept his head and kept the lead. He shot four-under today to be 16-under for three rounds, a two-stroke lead.

Ashok Kumar will be the third player in the leader group tomorrow, after he capped an otherwise ordinary day with three successive birdies on the last three holes. He is 11-under and clear third.

After his trademark slow start, Randhawa upped his game to a new level. Accurate second shots, making greens in regulation and then good touch on the greens meant the overall game was working, and that showed in the scores. Calmly sinking birdies at will 8212; 1 st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th 8212; he played a bogey-free, almost error-free round.

SSP Chowrasia was still finding more bunkers and miss-by-a-whisker putts than he would like, but ended the day with a one-under for the round and in fourth place.
