MUMBAI, Jan 5: Chief Minister Manohar Joshi today categorically said that Christians in the State should not worry about attacks as adequate precautionary measures had been initiated wherever necessary.
Referring to an ongoing meeting of the Dharmaraksha Samiti at Peth in Nashik district, Joshi said at a press conference in Mantralaya today that no Christian would have to leave Maharashtra.
quot;I was informed about the Peth meeting and necessary instructions have been issued to the police. Christians have been staying at Peth for several years and they need not go anywhere else, quot; the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister added that there was a general complaint from various Hindu organisations that tribal Hindus were being forcefully converted to Christianity.
