On Monday, when most of his family members would either be busy baking cakes or preparing sumptuous meals, Jeev Milkha Singh, turning 37, would probably like to sit and ponder the year gone by.

The year started off well for Jeev as he married his childhood sweetheart Kudrat Brar and then went on to win some major titles. However, nothing could compensate the pain that he underwent after his wife suffered a miscarriage a day before the Nippon Series JT Cup.

8220;If I had had a son then I would have told him that if your father can do something, you can do it much better than him,8221; an emotional Jeev said at a press conference in Chandigarh on Sunday.

Calling the Singapore Open win as his best, Jeev said: 8220;2008 was much better than 2006, where I had also won four titles. I learnt a lot from my mistakes and put in my best effort this year. I have grown in confidence and I trust my swing more now.8221;

He also hoped that 2009 would be his year. 8220;My aim is to win on the US PGA Tour and the European Tour and also win a Major the next year. I also want to break into the Top 20 by the end of 2009,8221; he said.
