NEW DELHI, SEPT 19: Top Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh maintained his fine run in the Lancome Trophy and continued to be seven shots adrift of the pace at two-under 209 going into the final round at Paris, France. Jeev fired one-under-par 70 in the third round yesterday to share the 16th spot with a 54-hole aggregate of four-under 209 in the 1.34 million prize money tournament being played at the Saint-Nom-La-Breteche Golf Course, according to information received here today.
The 27-year-old Chandigarh-based pro, the lone Indian on the highly-competitive European PGA Tour, started with a level par 72 and then upped the ante in the second round to return a superb card of four-under 67.
Jeev was clubbed together with eight others including American Bob May and Frenchman Jean van de Velde. Defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain maintained his overnight led but had his lead cut down to only one shot. The 35-year-old shot a 70 to lead at 11-under 202.
Pierre Fulke of Sweden 696965 was placedsecond with European No 1 Colin Montgomerie 667068 of Scotland following a shot behind.
Simi slumps
NEW DELHI: Simi Mehra8217;s game fell apart as she returned a poor seven-over-par 79 to slumped down the leaderboard after the third round of the Safeco Classic LPGA Golf Tournament at Kent, Washington USA.
Mehra 717379, who was placed joint 27th with a level-par 144 after 36 holes, returned a disastrous card to share the 81st spot with American Kim Shipman 717577 at seven-over 223 yesterday.
