JD, Lok Dal poll lists out

NEW DELHI, November 4: According to the list of candidates released by the Janata Dal, the party is fielding its candidates for 39 Assembly seats. The only sitting MLA, Shoeb Iqbal, has filed his candidature from the Matia Mahal constituency, it said.

Earlier considered as a force to reckon with, having managed four seats for itself in the last elections, the defected Janata Dal is now seen as a spent force. Meanwhile, the Lok Dal also has released its list of eight candidates for the first phase of elections.

According to the Lok Dal spokesman, Dhirendra Pratap, the second list of candidates will be announced by tomorrow. Among those whose names were announced today are Yudhveer Singh from Mahipalpur, Ratan Singh from Babarpur and Rajendra Shah from R.K. Puram.
