Jasmeet Singh shines

New Delhi, March 9: Jasmeet Singh scored a brilliant 56 runs and scalped three wickets to steer Kulachi Manovikas to a 132-run victory over Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in a preliminary round match of the 10th Special Olympics at the National Stadium here. The Air Force boys apparently had come with little preparation and were all out for a paltry 14 runs. Guninder claimed five wickets.

In the second match, Ashakiran beat Aanchal by 79 runs. Mantru was the star player with 53 runs and three wickets to his credit. The Aanchal side was all out for only 23 runs in 8.3 overs.

In football, Ashakiran got a walkover against Tamanna.

The Special Olympics, for children with mental handicap, is being organised by the YMCA and Modicare.
