
PUNE, Nov 23: Inspired and motivated by the philosophy of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram, the IV Endowment lecture series will be inaugurated at the Sant Dnyaneshwar World Peace Library of MAEER8217;s Maharashtra Institute of Technology MIT from Wednesday, at the hands of former Prime Minister I K Gujral.
The lecture series, which Dr Vishwanath Karad, founder president of MIT says, is organised in the quest for world peace,8217; and to make people aware of the social, scientific and philosophical teachings of our great masters,8217; will continue from November 24 to 30.
Mohan Dharia, president Vanrai, Pune, will be the guest of honour for the inaugural function at 11 am, and social thinker and former speaker, government of Maharashtra, Balasaheb Bharade will preside over the function.
Every day of the lecture series will begin with a session on yoga, pranayam and meditation, from 7.15 am to 8 am. The topics cover education, religion, philosophy, health, scriptures, world peace through tourism, human rights, mind control, ethics, morality and environment.
The valedictory session will be held on November 30 at 10 am. Chennai-based neurosurgeon Dr B Ramamurthi will speak on 8220;Mind: matter, spirit and consciousness8221;, and Dr Rame Gowda, chariman, All India Council for Technical Education AICTE will preside over the function.
The series has been organised by the Saint Shree Dnyaneshwar and Saint Shree Tukaram Endowment Lecture Series Trust, Pune, and trustees and members of the World Peace Centre Alandi, of MAEER8217;s Maharashtra Institute of Technology MIT, Pune.
