Chandrachur Singh on the one film that always makes him cry:

I can safely say that for me, this film was a cathartic experience. Even today, when I8217;m upset about something but cannot express myself correctly, I pop in a video cassette of Shaheed and find myself sobbing bitterly. It8217;s almost become a way for me to express myself. Also, I have noticed over the years, that whenever I need inspiration, this film helps me to a great extent.

In my opinion, the most interesting thing about Shaheed

is the fact that it is still very contemporary in its pace and its dialogue. It just hasn8217;t got dated, which is such a marvel!

If I were to think of the one bit that really left me with a lump in my throat, then that8217;s got to be the last scene of the film, where these men are to be hanged8230; The way the climax builds up from that point is truly moving.quot;
