It Rocks!

It8217;s Sunday and he8217;s been locked in his studio since 11 am. 8220;My days are full of targets, one after the other, which basically translates into no breaks, no recess 8212; just one long gruelling session of recording, practice and meetings,8221; smiles the 22-year-old musician, part of an award-winning rock band called De Innovatives.

Nirdosh also runs a music school aptly titled School of Rock, where he teaches the guitar and drums.

8220;Apart from this, it8217;s non-stop work on our first album, upgrading our website and practice sessions for our next concert.8221;

Breakfast down; Nirdosh8217;s day begins with recording in his studio. Money is of

the essence, therefore, multi-tasking is

the norm.

8220;I can8217;t afford to hire assistants or helpers at this struggling stage,8221; he winks, shaking off the cobwebs of sleep.

8220;Slept at 5:30 in the morning, was judging a music contest at Punjab Engineering College,8221; he explains.

In the evening, Nirdosh is ready to program the drumming. 8220;The drummer is absent, so I8217;ve got to do this,8221; he8217;s right when he says nothing is planned.

In another hour or so, the band members will walk in and the jammin8217; session will kickstart. 8220;Anything for the spirit of rock!8221;

8220;There8217;s another thing actually. We8217;ve entered A R Rahman8217;s Big Band reality show and need to compose tracks for it 8212; one Bollywood interpretation and one which Rahman8217;s given. I like his tune because it8217;s classical and I8217;ve trained in it.8221;

He has his fingers crossed for if they get the three-year contract, his life will be on a roll!

Well, while this is one of the major concerns, there are couple of others lurking on the periphery 8212; 8220;a concert on the 14th at CEC Landran, a website by end of this month, find sponsors for the album, fix a photo shoot for tomorrow, band practice8221; 8212; yes, we get it! 8220;See, I never know when will I get to sleep!8221;
