
Terrorism, drug trafficking and organised crime top the agenda of the 74th Interpol General Assembly Session which started in Berlin today.
CBI Director U S Mishra, who is also the head of the National Central Bureau of India Interpol, New Delhi, is leading an eight-member Indian delegation to the meeting and will place India8217;s concerns on cyber crime before the delegates.
During the four days of deliberations at the Assembly, there will be presentation by 182 member countries on selected topics such as drug trafficking, organised crime, public security and terrorism.
The member countries will also be updated on an expanded Interpol8217;s database on DNA, stolen travel documents and internet child abuse. Other members of the Indian delegation are the Director General of Police, Orissa, Suchit Das and Joint Secretary Security, Ministry of Home Affairs, Rakesh.
The General Assembly Session is the most important event on the calendar of Interpol in which major decisions about its programs and policies are taken. The 73rd session held in Mexico last year.
