NEW DELHI, DEC 2: The Indian Space department has put its September setbacks behind and has started integrating the multi-purpose INSAT-2E satellite scheduled for launch from French Guyana next year.
It is also working on future Indian Remote Sensing IRS satellites dedicated to ocean and climate studies, Indian Space Research Organisation chairman Dr K Kasturirangan said today. He said the cause of power failure on INSAT-2D in September, which led to its abandoning three months after its launch, has not yet been identified.
The ISRO chief was speaking to journalists after receiving an honorary fellowship of the Indian Meteorological Society that is organising an international symposium on Asian monsoon here.
Dr Kasturirangan assured that the Indian Remote Sensing Satellite IRS-1D, that was initially launched into an incorrect orbit in September which was subsequently rectified, would complete its full designated life. 8220;It is a full-fledged operational satellite meeting all functional requirements.8221;
