NEW DELHI, February 21: Mohd Ilyas8217; all-round performance 66 not out, 2 for 9 helped Dental Hydrolics beat Sunil Auto Comp by 78 runs in the opening round of Industrial Cup at Nehru Stadium, Gurgaon.

Brief Scores: Dental Hydrolics: 277 for 4 in 30 overs Sarabjeet 72, Mohd Ilyas 66 not out, S Talwar 63, Sunil 2 for 39, Sumit Bakshi 2 for 34. Sunil Auto Comp: 193 for 7 in 30 overs Maneet 44, Amit Kumar 42, Amitabh 2 for 13, Mohd Ilyas 2 for 9.

Haryana Police win
Surender Kumar, Jaswant Singh and Rajesh Kumar each scored 12 points to steer last year8217;s champions Haryana Police beat Fatehabad by 15 points in the 17th Haryana state basketball championship at Nehru Stadium, Gurgaon. In another match, last year8217;s women8217;s champions Bhiwani beat Ambala by 13 points.

Playing a fast game, the Haryana Police hoopsters proved too hot to handle for the Fatehabad cagers. But the match between Sonepatand Faridabad proved to be a thriller with the former scrapping through in the end.

Men: Haryana Police bt Fatehabad 62-47, Sonepat bt Faridabad 44-40, Jhajjar bt Panipat 51-18, Rohtak bt Rewari 53-20, Gurgaon bt Hissar 51-19.
Women: Bhiwani bt Ambala 33-20, Jind bt Gurgaon 14-5.
