Irfan Pathan, both with bat and ball, helped Middlesex to position of strength on the second day of their match against Sussex. Pathan 41 hit six boundaries in his 45 run ninth wicket stand to take Middlesex to 401. He then got two quick wickets to push Sussex to backfoot. By the end of the day, Sussex were five down for 206.
