
ISLAMABAD, FEBRUARY 26: The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned to the Foreign Office late on Saturday here and handed over a note verbale8217; in protest against the alleged involvement of Indian troops in the killing of some locals in the Kotli sector of Pakistan occupied Kashmir PoK, which he promptly denied.
The Deputy High Commissioner, Sudhir Vyas, was told that quot;this was a barbaric act of state terrorism8230; constituted a blatant violation of the Line of Control and8230; would contribute further to the vitiation of the tense security situation in the regionquot;, an official release said.
Denying the allegations, the Deputy High Commissioner termed the charges as quot;utter nonsense and entirely baseless. No Indian security forces have crossed the LoC.quot;
He said such unfounded and baseless allegations hurled by Pakistan at India recently seemed to be falling into a pattern. I asked him to convey to his superiors to desist from making such unfounded and baseless allegations.8217;A senior foreign office official, Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, who handed over the note to Vyas, alleged there has been an intensification of violation of the LoC and that there had been two or three incidents of crossing the LoC by Indian forces in the recent past.
Vyas said, quot;I once again rejected the allegations8230;And reiterated that the pattern of provocative Pakistani actions, including continued large-scale infiltration and intensified firing across the LoC do not contribute to regional peace and securityquot;.
