Indian confident of beating South Korea

Korea have reason to believe that they are a better side and were unlucky in the league clash. They showed better speed and troubled the Indians with their hassling tactics. And it was gutsy goalkeeper Tingonleima Chanu and the defenders who kept India in the hunt.

Some of the Korean moves looked like set-pieces out of men8217;s hockey, such is their speed, agility and accuracy with passes. However their penalty corner conversions lack consistency.

Bhangu said: 8220;Korea will come out attacking and we will try torestrain them and look for opportunities to score.8221; But he was quick to assert that India have done their homework and will try to plug the midfield gaps. 8220;We will resort to stiff player-to-player marking,8221; he said.

China finish third: China struggled against Japan before finishing third with a 1-0 win today. Defender Yang Huiping scooped over an onrushing Japanese goalkeeper late in the second half.

Kazakhstan Fifth: The Kazakh women were also a given tough time before they prevailed 4-3 over Malaysia to take fifth place. Yelena Apeiganetz scored twice while Yelena Svirskaya and Natalya Podshivalova scored one each for the winners. Yuwana Rahman, CIM Che Abrahim and NS Ahmad Soobni scored for Malaysia.
