LUCKNOW: Chetan Baboor is all set to win the men’s title for the fifth time in succession at the Sahara 61st National Table Tennis Championship that begins here on Thursday.
In the team events, PSCB with Chetan, Arjun Dutta, S Raman and Arup Basak (the last two being former National champions), are unlikely to be stopped from extending their reign.
Agragami-ITI clash
BANGALORE: Manaksia Tollygunge Agragami of Calcutta start favourites against local league champions Indian Telephone Industries in the Fourth Coca-Cola National Football League (NFL) on Thursday. ITI are yet to taste success in five matches, and have just two points from two drawn matches.
Sridhar in semis
HYDERABAD: Top seed Vinod Sridhar of Tamil Nadu and fourth seed SK Shiv Shanker of Karnataka moved into the men’s singles semi-finals of the AITA All-India prize money tennis tournament on Wednesday. Vijay Kannan and Vasudev Reddy also advanced.
