Jedhe recalled

PUNE: All-rounder Santosh Jedhe, along with seamer Rahul Kanade and spinner Parag Chitale have been recalled in the Maharashtra squad to be led by Shantanu Sugvekar against Baroda in the four-day West Zone Ranji Trophy league tie at the Poona Club ground here from Jan 6.

The team for four day league tie: Shantanu Sugvekar capt, Surendra Bhave, Sanjay Kondhalkar wicket-keeper, Hemant Knikar, Abhijit Kale, Santosh Jedhe, Indrajeet Kamtekar, Mandar Sane, Milind Kulkarni, Iqbal Siddiqui, Parag Chitale, Ashutosh Agashe, Rahul Kanade, Niranjan Godbole, Shekar Dalvi Nashik.

UBI triumph

CALCUTTA: Mumbai based Union Bank of India UBI won the Ninth All-India Inter-bank football tournament, edging past State Bank of Travancore 1-0 at Sai Eastern Centre here today. Medio Mario Susai found the target 10 minutes before close. UBI keeper Raju Okka was adjudged Man of the Match.

CHANDIGARH: Four Indians entered the main draw of the Escort Yamaha ITF men8217;s Future Tennis tournament here. Syed Fazaluddin beat the 2nd seed M Gregore Slovakia 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3. In another match, Vikrant Chadha defeated Andrei Youznyi Rus 6-1, 6-4. Vishaal Uppal scraped past V Sridhar 6-4, 7-6 7-1 and Saurav Panja beat Mustafa Ghouse 6-3, 6-1.
