Bengal, TN record wins
New Delhi: Holders Bengal and Tamil Nadu scored hard-fought wins over their rivals in the opening quarter-final league matches of the 21st sub-junior U-16 National football championship today.

Bengal beat UP 2-0, while Tamil Nadu rallied to overcome Andhra Pradesh 2-1.Bengal8217;s victory was preceded by high drama when its four playersand two Uttar Pradesh players were found over age and were debarred.

Rehmat8217;s dues
Mumbai: Deposed Pakistani coach Rehmat Khan has asked the Squash Rackets Association of Maharashtra SRAM to pay him Rs 1.75 lakh for additional days training he gave to state boys. Khan was appointed last year by SRAM as director of coaching for a fee of Rs one lakh to impart training for eighty days. Rehmat has claimed he gave training for more than 80 days. SRAM is in no way capable of meeting Khan8217;s sudden demand which is not substantiated by any documentation.

Zaman upset
Madurai: Fifth seed S Zaman of West Bengalwas upset while other seeded players on view moved into the second round of the Gold Flake Aces tour tennis championship here today.

In a first round match of the main draw, Zaman lost 1-6 1-6 to the relatively unknown R Ramanand of Tamil Nadu.

Third seed Saurav Panja defeated Rohan Bopanna, while Shailesh Dhoble quelled Sangram Chapekar 6-4 6-1.
