
Indian youth team on Nov 3
MUMBAI: The Indian cricket selection committee, headed by chairman Ajit Wadekar, would meet at the Mumbai Cricket Association MCA here to pick the Board President8217;s XI and the Indian youth teams on November 3.
The visiting West Indies A team, who arrive here on November 14 for a month-long tour, will play two three-day matches against the Board President8217;s XI and India youth team before playing two four-day Test8217; matches at Bangalore and Chennai, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI.
The tourists will play the President8217;s XI at the Brabourne Stadium from November 15 to 17 and then the India youths at Pune from November 20 to 22.

KOCHI: The inaugural Scissors football league kicks off at Kannur on November 20 giving Kerala the distinction of being the first state, after Goa, to have a league of its own. The Scissors football league will be conducted at two venues 8212; Kollam and Kannur.

VIJAYAWADA: The Mini National badminton championship, which was to be held at Kurnool AP, has been shifted to Visakhapatnam, according to Badminton Association of India release here. The four-day tourney, which begins on December 7, is organised by Visakhapatnam Port Trust and will be held at Rajiv Gandhi Port Indoor Stadium.

CALCUTTA: The 38th Open National Athletic Championships will be held at the Salt Lake Stadium and Sports Authority of India8217;s Calcutta centre from November 3 to 5. The meet will also serve as the selection trials for the Bangkok Asian Games.
