MUMBAI: Kapil Dev will play under Sunil Gavaskar for Rest of the World XI in a charity match against Australia XI in Victoria on Dec 8. The match is being organised by Multiple Sclerosis Society of Victoria to raise money for research.

Mongia departure
MUMBAI: Nayan Mongia will join the Indian team in Australia tomorrow night well in advance of the December 10-14 first Test at Adelaide Oval, to replace the injured Mannava Prasad. Prasad was injured after banging his knee against a suitcase at Kuala Lumpur Airport, en route to Australia.
Muzumdar to lead
MUMBAI: Amol Muzumdar will lead West Zone for the Duleep Trophy match against East Zone, beginning on Dec 9, in place of Nayan Mongia. Mongia8217;s place will be taken by Gujarat wicketkeeper Pathik Patel.
Asian Youth Chess
AHMEDABAD: The second Asian Youth Chess Championship will be held here from Dec 15-25. Players from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Australia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Almaty, Iran, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and India will participate.
CV Rao in the lead
HYDERABAD: CV Rao from Vizag Group A and Sunil Machhar Group B led the fray with 152 VPs and 158 VPs respectively after eight rounds in the 15-round team of four duplicate event in the 41st Bridge Nationals today.
